ANI (Aois Na Impireachtaí, Irish for "Age of Empires"), alternatively titled Emerald Cascade, is Ultimate Ridley's sole alternate timeline, in development since early 2015. The timeline diverges in the 8th century AD at various specific points, with the most prominent early focus being on Ireland and the rise of a conqueror dynasty known as the Ua Rubanns. The timeline then continues onwards in full force until roughly the 1980s, where Ridley put a pin in further time advancement due to the sheer complexity of addressing an alternate modern world. Ridley has described the timeline as being like a lepidopterarium, a house of butterflies that breed and interact with each other.

The timeline has several constructed languages developed for it:

  • Nióruais, a Goidelic Celtic language impacted by Norse phonology and vocabulary with several Greek loanwords; this is easily the most prominent of the timeline's languages.
  • Ézponnis, a Goidelic Celtic language heavily impacted by Iberian Romance (Spanish, Portuguese, etc) vocabulary and grammar. Though not as thoroughly documented as Nióruais, it is definitely the second most prominent from this timeline.
  • Corraimian, another Goidelic Celtic language, this one being almost a creole with Finnish and Komi.
  • Litovian, a Gallo-Romance language impacted by Baltic languages (Lithuanian and Latvian).
  • Pumorsian, a West Slavic language impacted by Irish.
  • Kurpašin, an Oghur Turkic language impacted by Polish and Greek.
  • Musreen, an Arabic language impacted by Greek.
